The Cronulla RSL Club, south of Sydney, witnessed yesterday morning, Saturday, December 2, a ceremony honoring the volunteers of the Australian branch of the Shepherd of Egypt (Raie Misr) Charitable Foundation, sponsored by the Egyptian Ambassador of Giving, Counselor Amir Ramzy, President of the Criminal Court and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Raie Misr Foundation for Development.
The event was attended by members of the Egyptian community in Australia, and the ceremony was presented by Ms. Viviane Awad, fundraising and partnerships manager of the organisation. The directors responsible for the Australian branch, Mr. Edward Zaki and Carl El-Assal, spoke about the branch’s contributions over the past five years, especially the volunteers’ journey in Egypt. They also expressed gratitude to all volunteers and supporters of the foundation, including businessmen, institutions, and companies. The attendees were introduced to the charitable works carried out by the foundation for poor and destitute families in Egyptian provinces through video clips.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented to 31 volunteers who participated in a trip to Egypt last September, joining hundreds of volunteers from the foundation’s main branch in various Egyptian provinces.”
