Arabic version: التحالف الدولي يلتزم بتقديم 17 مليار دولار لجهود الإغاثة في غزة
According to Middle East Eye,
Members of the ‘Board of Peace’ have pledged a total of $7 billion towards relief efforts in Gaza, as announced by U.S. President Donald Trump during the group’s inaugural meeting in Washington, D.C. on February 19, 2026. The coalition includes nine nations: Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Morocco, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Kuwait.
Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait each committed $1 billion, although Azerbaijan’s representative disputed their country’s inclusion in the financial contributions, stating that their participation was not envisaged in the financial project for Gaza. Trump emphasized the importance of these investments, remarking that every dollar spent is a step towards regional stability.
In addition to the contributions from the Board of Peace, the U.S. has announced an additional $10 billion for overall operations of the coalition, not specifically earmarked for Gaza. The United Nations will also raise $2 billion for humanitarian efforts in the region, while FIFA plans to contribute $75 million for sports-related projects.
The meeting highlighted the role of the World Bank in managing the funds, with its head, Ajay Banga, stating they will act as a limited trustee. However, concerns remain about the high risks involved in reconstruction efforts due to ongoing violence in Gaza. Trump declared that the war is over, but recent reports indicate continued casualties, raising questions about the feasibility of the proposed initiatives.
The Board of Peace aims to establish an International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza, with contributions of troops from several nations, including Indonesia and Morocco. Local police recruitment is already underway in Gaza, with 2,000 Palestinians having applied to join the force, which will be trained in Egypt.
