Ian Huntley, the Soham double murderer, remains hospitalized after an attack by another inmate at HMP Frankland. According to BBC News, Huntley suffered significant head trauma and is undergoing treatment following the assault.

The incident involved triple killer Anthony Russell, 43, who is suspected of using a makeshift weapon during the attack. Authorities from Durham Constabulary confirmed that a male prisoner in his mid-40s, suspected of carrying out the attack, is currently in detention but has not been arrested yet. A police investigation is underway as detectives coordinate with prison staff.

As of the latest update, there has been no change in Huntley’s serious condition. Sources indicate that he was discovered lying in a pool of blood after the attack, which adds to a history of violence he has faced while incarcerated. Previously, Huntley was slashed across the throat in 2010 and suffered a boiling water attack in 2005.

Huntley is serving a life sentence for the murders of schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in August 2002. The case remains a haunting memory for many, with the image of the girls in their Manchester United kits still vivid in public consciousness. Their bodies were discovered nearly two weeks after their disappearance, leading to Huntley’s arrest and subsequent conviction.
