Explosions are being heard in Iran, Israel, and across several Middle Eastern states after the United States and Israel began attacking Iran on March 1, 2026. Tehran has responded by launching waves of missiles and drones at Israeli military facilities and U.S. bases in the region.

According to Al Jazeera, Israel’s air force says it dropped more than 1,200 munitions across 24 of Iran’s 31 provinces over the past day. In retaliation, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has launched attacks on 27 bases in the Middle East where U.S. troops are deployed as well as Israeli military facilities in Tel Aviv and other parts of Israel.

The escalating conflict has resulted in significant casualties. Reports indicate that at least 201 people have died in Iran, with 747 others injured. The deadliest incident occurred in Minab, where a strike on an elementary girls school reportedly killed at least 148 people and injured 95. In Israel, an Iranian ballistic missile strike on central Israel’s Beit Shemesh killed eight people and injured about 20.

U.S. Central Command confirmed that three American soldiers had been killed, with five others injured in the ongoing conflict. Additionally, Iranian missiles targeted the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet in Bahrain, resulting in four injuries. Attacks have also been reported in Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar, with varying degrees of damage and casualties across these nations.

As the situation continues to develop, the regional impact of the conflict remains profound, with many countries experiencing air raid alerts and military responses. The international community is closely monitoring the evolving circumstances as casualties continue to mount.
