The family of Argen Kuni, a hit-and-run victim in Griffith, is still searching for answers nearly a year after his tragic death. Kuni, originally from the Solomon Islands, was found dead on the roadside in April 2025, and police suspect he was the victim of a hit and run. Despite ongoing investigations, authorities have not identified the vehicle or driver involved.

According to ABC News, Griffith police have recently made a fresh appeal for information, releasing new CCTV footage that shows two cars in the area at the time of the incident. The footage captures a blurry blue sedan or hatchback driving with its headlights on along Watkins Avenue, where Kuni was believed to have been struck.

Kuni’s sister, Margaret Natalie Kuni, expressed her frustration over the investigation’s slow progress and lack of communication from the police. She has taken on the responsibility of supporting her brother’s wife and two children while grieving the loss of her sibling. “If I see his pictures, his photos in my phone, I feel like I’m crying,” she said, highlighting the emotional toll the situation has taken on her family.

Acting Superintendent Commander Tim Clark stated that police are committed to gathering all available evidence and have maintained contact with Kuni’s family, who are overseas. However, Margaret Kuni remains concerned about the lack of updates, stating that she often has to initiate contact with law enforcement for information.

As the investigation continues, the family is left in limbo, yearning for clarity regarding what happened to Argen Kuni. “I miss my brother so much and I just feel like if they can reach out and let me know what is the fact, what is behind the scene of his death?” Margaret Kuni said, emphasizing the need for answers in this shocking case.
