Arabic version: تصعيد مستمر في الصراع الأمريكي الإسرائيلي مع إيران
The ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran has reached a critical point as attacks in various cities have resulted in civilian casualties, including a newborn and a two-year-old in Arak city. The situation escalated further as Iran retaliated against US assets in neighboring countries, while Israel conducted bombings in southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah, an Iran-backed armed group. According to Al Jazeera, the war has caused significant disruption to oil prices and shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, displacing millions of civilians across the region.
In Iran, reports indicate a series of large explosions in northern Tehran, with earlier attacks also reported in central Tehran, Karaj, Shahriar, and Shiraz. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that a US-Israeli attack claimed the lives of a mother, her three-day-old infant, and their two-year-old sibling. Additionally, an Amnesty International investigation revealed that a US attack on a primary school in Minab killed at least 170 individuals, most of whom were schoolgirls.
The Gulf region has also seen heightened tensions, with the UAE reporting a drone attack that caused a fire in its oil industry zone. The UAE government confirmed the temporary closure of its airspace in response to incoming missiles and drones. Qatar’s Ministry of Defence stated they intercepted 13 out of 14 ballistic missiles launched from Iran, while Kuwait’s National Guard reported downing a drone amid security efforts.
In Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended Nowruz wishes to Iranians as Hezbollah launched attacks on the northern Israeli city of Nahariya, resulting in injuries. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that displaced Lebanese citizens would not be allowed to return until safety is restored in northern Israel. The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen, with more than one million Lebanese reported displaced since the onset of Israeli attacks.
As the conflict unfolds, US President Donald Trump has called for increased international support to secure shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. European leaders have largely rejected Trump’s demands for military involvement, reinforcing the complex international dynamics at play in this conflict.
