Nicholas Brendon, the beloved actor known for his role in the cult TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has died aged 54. His family confirmed in a statement on social media that he passed in his sleep of natural causes.
Brendon gained fame as Xander Harris, the best friend of the titular character played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, during the show’s seven-season run from 1997 to 2003. His performance earned him three Emmy nominations, showcasing his talent in the industry.
In addition to his acting career, Brendon had a passion for painting and art in recent years. He was also open about his health struggles, including a heart attack and underwent two spinal surgeries for cauda equina syndrome, and he advocated for those with stuttering issues as a spokesperson for the Stuttering Foundation of America.
Tributes have poured in from his colleagues, including Alyson Hannigan, who expressed her love and fond memories of Brendon in an Instagram post.
