During an appearance on the “News Hour” program on Nile News Channel, Osama Sharshar, editor-in-chief of Al-Nahar newspaper, revealed a significant surprise. He predicted that a major deal could be finalized by the end of the Iranian-American negotiations in Pakistan. This deal could lead to collaboration between American and Iranian oil companies, generating billions of dollars for both nations while cutting off Iranian oil supplies to China. This scenario would also be a substantial blow to Israel’s expansionist aspirations in the region.
Sharshar expressed optimism about JD Vance leading the American delegation, as he represents the anti-war political perspective within the U.S. Despite the presence of other figures like Jared Kushner in the delegation, Sharshar believes they do not hold as much influence as Vance.
He also praised Kuwaiti Ambassador to Cairo, Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanem, for rejecting negative comments about Egypt circulating on social media. The ambassador denounced calls to withdraw some Kuwaiti deposits from Egyptian banks, affirming that these statements do not represent the Kuwaiti government. He emphasized that the relationship between Egypt and Kuwait is currently at its best.
Furthermore, Sharshar highlighted that a successful negotiation between the U.S. and Iran could present a significant opportunity for both countries. It would allow Iran to reestablish itself as a normal state in the world and rebuild its infrastructure. For Donald Trump, it could be a chance to regain lost popularity among the American public and lay the groundwork for lasting peace in the Middle East, free from Israeli entanglements.
