His Excellency Hani Nagy, the Egyptian Ambassador to Australia, along with his wife and members of the embassy in Canberra, attended the Easter Mass held at the St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church in the Australian capital on Saturday evening, April 11. The event saw a large turnout from the Egyptian community.
During the mass, the ambassador conveyed the warmest greetings from His Excellency President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to the Coptic Egyptians abroad. The President extended his best wishes for the occasion, hoping that God would bless them with goodness and stability for Egypt.
In the same context, Pastor Michael Zamer, during his sermon, expressed deep appreciation and gratitude on behalf of the church community for the President’s thoughtful gesture in sending a congratulatory message for Easter. He noted that this gesture reflects the President’s concern for Egyptians abroad and embodies the spirit of citizenship and love that unites all Egyptians in a framework of brotherhood and harmony.
The ambassador also offered heartfelt congratulations to the Coptic Egyptian community in Australia and the church’s congregation during his speech at the event. He expressed his admiration for how they represent Egypt honorably within the Australian society, emphasizing that they are ambassadors of Egypt abroad, embodying the values of coexistence, harmony, and citizenship—values that the President is committed to promoting.
He also expressed his hopes that the Easter celebration would bring more blessings and hope, particularly in light of the challenging times faced globally.
