Arabic version: زعيم حزب الخضر يطالب بإخراج ترامب من ملاعب الجولف الاسكتلندية
Zack Polanski, the leader of the Green Party in England and Wales, has called for Donald Trump to be “kicked out” of his golf courses in Scotland and for the properties to be “brought into community ownership”. His remarks came during a visit to Glasgow, where he supported his Scottish Green colleagues ahead of the Holyrood election. According to BBC News, Polanski criticized the US president, saying he had “started illegal and unpopular wars.”
During a press conference, Polanski expressed his views, stating, “It’s not for me to tell Scotland what to do either but I’d really like to see Donald Trump kicked out of his golf courses. I don’t think you should be able to start illegal and unpopular wars and still have golf courses. I’d love to see those golf courses brought into community ownership.” He clarified that his comments reflect a personal opinion rather than an official party policy.
Trump International in Scotland responded to Polanski’s statements, labeling them as “frankly ludicrous and ignorant”. Sarah Malone, the executive vice president of the golf course, described Polanski as “an imbecile” for his remarks.
The golf courses in question include Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire and Trump Turnberry in South Ayrshire. The Aberdeenshire location features two 18-hole courses, with the New Course opened during Trump’s visit to Scotland last summer, which he dedicated to his mother, a native of the Western Isles. Polanski’s comments have sparked a debate regarding Trump’s ownership and influence in Scotland as the election approaches.
