Wales great George North has announced that he will retire from professional rugby at the end of the season. North, who turned 34 earlier this month, called time on his international career in 2024 having won 121 caps and scored 47 tries for his country.

According to BBC News, North has had a remarkable career, including tours with the British and Irish Lions in 2013 and 2017, during which he played three Tests and scored two tries. He has spent the past two seasons playing for French second-tier side Provence after stints with Scarlets, Northampton Saints, and Ospreys.

In a heartfelt video shared on social media, North expressed, “I want to let you know that at the end of the season, I will be retiring. For me, it’s the right time.” He reflected on fulfilling his childhood dream and thanked his family, friends, and supporters for their unwavering support throughout his career.

As North prepares to hang up his boots, fans and fellow players alike celebrate his contributions to Welsh rugby and the sport as a whole. More updates on his retirement are expected as the season progresses.
