Arabic version: HBO تؤكد الموسم الثاني من سلسلة هاري بوتر التلفزيونية
According to BBC News,
HBO has officially renewed the Harry Potter TV series for a second season, with filming set to commence in autumn this year. While the network has not disclosed a title for the upcoming season, it is widely anticipated that it will adapt the second book in J.K. Rowling’s series, The Chamber of Secrets. The first season, titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is scheduled to premiere this Christmas on HBO Max.
Writer Jon Brown, who contributed to the first season and is known for his work on Succession, has been promoted to co-showrunner alongside Francesca Gardiner, the showrunner for season one. HBO previously announced intentions to adapt all seven books in Rowling’s series over the next decade, with each season focusing on a single book.
In a statement, Gardiner emphasized that the return to filming for season two this autumn aligns with their plans for overlapping production schedules as season one wraps up. She noted that bringing Brown on as co-showrunner was crucial for maintaining momentum. Brown also expressed his enthusiasm for continuing the series, thanking Gardiner and HBO for their support.
The first season covers Harry’s initial year at Hogwarts, where he discovers a world of magic and confronts his identity as a wizard. The series has already released its first trailer, showcasing iconic moments from the books and introducing the central characters, including young actors Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout. However, casting details for Harry’s adversary, Lord Voldemort, remain unconfirmed, although names like Cillian Murphy and Andy Serkis have been speculated.
As the series progresses, The Chamber of Secrets will delve into darker aspects of Hogwarts as Harry and his friends face new threats and challenges. A premiere date for the second season has yet to be announced.
