According to BBC News,

Aston Villa celebrated their Europa League triumph with a grand parade through Birmingham, drawing an estimated crowd of more than 20,000 supporters. The event took place in Centenary Square, where fans gathered to see the team lift the trophy, marking the club’s first major title in 30 years after a 3-0 victory against Freiburg in Istanbul.

Fans began lining the streets hours in advance, eager to catch a glimpse of the team. The atmosphere was electric, with claret and blue smoke filling the air as supporters waved flags and cheered loudly. The parade culminated in a lively celebration as the players held the trophy aloft, showering the crowd with confetti.

Manager Unai Emery addressed the jubilant crowd, expressing pride in the team’s achievement and gratitude towards their loyal fans. “And of course we are so, so proud of you,” Emery added. Defender Tyrone Mings also shared his excitement, revealing that the players had celebrated hard after their victory and thanking fans for their unwavering support.

The parade began in the city’s Jewellery Quarter shortly before 17:00 BST and made its way to Centenary Square, where personal stories of fans were shared along the route. Among those present were employees from Krypton Jewellers, who received time off to attend the celebrations. Long-time supporter Andy reflected on the moment, recalling the last time the club brought home a European trophy in 1982.

Despite the overwhelming joy of the celebration, some fans expressed disappointment over the timing of the parade, as it conflicted with the return of many supporters from Turkey. Nonetheless, for those who attended, the day was filled with pride and excitement as they welcomed their heroes back home.
