The Council of Ministers of South Sudan, during its regular meeting chaired by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, has approved a series of new policies aimed at improving governance and enhancing public service delivery through reforms linked to the Revitalised Peace Agreement.
The Cabinet also endorsed new regulations concerning the management of government vehicles, alongside reforms designed to strengthen the prison feeding system. According to the government, these measures are intended to support institutional reform and improve the management of public resources across the country.
As part of the reforms, the Council approved a new policy framework establishing a centralised and standardised prison feeding system. Under the policy, the Ministry of Interior will oversee procurement processes, menu planning, and monitoring services related to prisoner nutrition and welfare.
In addition, the Cabinet approved the Policy Framework and Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MPA) for the 2025–2030 period. The framework is expected to guide the ministry and its stakeholders in implementing programmes and activities aligned with the ministry’s mandate in a more efficient and effective manner.
