According to The Guardian, no specific cause of death has been reported.

Chapman, who stood at 2.13 meters (7 feet) tall, faced significant health challenges throughout his life, including kidney disease. He was a spokesperson for the National Kidney Foundation and underwent dialysis treatments for a year while filming 30 Rock. In 2010, he received a kidney transplant.

Born in Brooklyn in 1974, Chapman began his career working as a bouncer before transitioning to acting. He first met his future 30 Rock co-star Tracy Morgan while working in a strip club, which led to a lasting friendship. Chapman’s breakout role came on 30 Rock, where he portrayed the gentle bodyguard Grizz in 80 episodes from 2006 to 2013.
