Arabic version: ترامب يفكر في القرار النهائي بشأن الاتفاق النووي الإيراني مع تصاعد النزاعات
According to Al Jazeera,
Prospects for a US-Iran agreement to end the conflict remained uncertain, with President Donald Trump saying he would make a “final determination” on a deal, while Iranian officials stressed that no understanding had yet been reached. Iran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said Tehran would judge any agreement by actions rather than words, adding that no steps would be taken unless Washington acted first.
In Iran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that exchanges with the United States are continuing but stressed that no final agreement has been reached. He rejected Trump’s demands-based approach and described the US naval blockade as illegal, adding that Tehran would judge any easing of restrictions by actions rather than words.
Fighting continued elsewhere in the region, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcing that Israeli forces have advanced beyond Lebanon’s Litani River. Israeli attacks across Lebanon on Friday reportedly left dozens more civilians killed or wounded, highlighting the ongoing conflict.
In the United States, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth urged allies to boost defense spending, linking it to a proposed $1.5 trillion investment in defense. He warned that countries that fail to do so could face changes in their relationship with Washington. Hegseth reiterated that the US remains committed to preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
The US Department of Defense described military-to-military talks between Israeli and Lebanese delegations in Washington as “productive,” saying they focused on regional security and stability. However, uncertainty remains after White House talks, with officials awaiting concrete details on any potential easing of restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz.
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded in northern Israel as the military intercepted several projectiles launched from Lebanon. Netanyahu’s announcement of troop movements north of the Litani River signals a potential escalation in military operations, coinciding with ongoing talks between Israel and Lebanon.
