It is with deep sorrow that we bid farewell to the great artist Magdy Fouad Boulos, a prominent figure in the world of the cello in Egypt and the Arab world. He left us in Australia, leaving behind a musical legacy that will forever remain in the memory of authentic art.
The late artist was one of the most distinguished members of Om Kalthoum’s band and the Diamond Orchestra. He accompanied the giants of Arabic music, including the great Om Kalthoum herself, as well as Abdel Halim Hafez, Baligh Hamdi, Sid Makawi, Wadi’ Al-Safi, Sabah, Fayza Ahmed, Nagat Al-Saghira, and Warda Al-Jazairia, among others. Through his exquisite playing and outstanding performance, he contributed to creating beautiful musical moments that continue to resonate in the hearts of millions.
His contributions extended beyond the stage; he also made a significant impact in the field of education. As a professor at the Higher Institute of Arabic Music, he trained generations of musicians, blending creativity with dedication, and art with purpose.
With his passing, the artistic community loses a great musical talent, but his works will remain a testament to his exceptional skill and his prolific career of giving.
We ask God to grant the deceased His vast mercy, to place him in His spacious gardens, and to inspire his family, loved ones, and students with patience and solace.
