A man has denied the attempted murder of ten individuals who were stabbed on a train traveling from Doncaster to London King’s Cross. The incident occurred shortly after the train made a stop at Peterborough on November 1, 2025. According to BBC News, Anthony Williams, 33, from Langford Road in Peterborough, appeared at Cambridge Crown Court via video link to enter his pleas.
During the court appearance, Williams pleaded not guilty to the attempted murders of the passengers, who were seriously injured during the attack. He also faces charges related to four additional attempted murders connected to other assaults that occurred in Peterborough and east London prior to the train incident.
Williams is currently being held at Rampton Hospital and appeared in court wearing a white T-shirt. He sat hunched over as he stated “not guilty” to each of the charges against him. In total, he faces 21 charges, including those for attempting to murder Jonathan Gjoshe, Sachin Balakrishnan, David Presland, Scott Bletcher, Scott Green, Kevin Deely, Stephen Crean, Raza Aslam, Michael Paffett, and Samir Zitouni on the train.
The train service, which was diverted and stopped at Huntingdon, prompted multiple emergency calls from passengers on board. Williams was arrested at the station, which was closed for several days while evidence was collected. His trial is set to begin on October 26, 2026.
