According to ABC News, British social media personality Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, known as Yung Filly, has gone on trial in Perth over allegations that he violently and repeatedly sexually assaulted a young fan in a hotel room during his 2024 Australian tour.

Mr Barrientos, 30, is accused in the District Court of six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing. The alleged victim, who cannot be identified and is now 21, attended his nightclub performance at Bar1 at Hillarys Boat Harbour with her cousin in September 2024.

Prosecutor Danielle Clarke told the jury the woman was allowed into the venue’s VIP lounge, where Mr Barrientos approached her. She later went with him to the Intercontinental Hotel on Hay Street, believing she was going to a party. The court heard that the pair initially had consensual sex, but the encounter allegedly became non-consensual and increasingly violent.

The woman gave evidence by videolink that Mr Barrientos had been her “idol” and that she had consumed “four or six shots” but “knew what I was doing”. She told the court he allegedly bit her, hit her, put a hand around her neck and pinned down her hands. She said a bite to her breast broke the skin and she later received a tetanus shot in hospital.

The court heard the woman photographed her injuries, went to her cousin’s home and reported the matter to police the following day. Defence lawyer David Edwardson did not make an opening statement. The trial is set down for two weeks.
