According to BBC News, Harry Wilson, Nathan Broadhead and Karl Darlow have withdrawn from Craig Bellamy’s Wales squad before the start of the Nations League A campaign.

Leeds attacking midfielder Wilson had been a doubt because of a quad problem, while Wrexham forward Broadhead was expected to miss out with a thigh issue. First-choice goalkeeper Darlow has also withdrawn after making his Manchester United debut in the EFL Cup last week and being on the bench for Sunday’s Premier League draw with Fulham.

Wales have called up Leicester City goalkeeper David Cornell, Huddersfield Town forward Joe Taylor and Reading midfielder Charlie Savage as replacements. Cornell, 35, and Taylor, 23, are uncapped, while Savage has won two senior Wales caps.

Bellamy’s side begin their Group A4 schedule against Portugal in Lisbon on Thursday, 24 September, before facing Denmark in Copenhagen the following Sunday. Wales then host Norway in Cardiff on Thursday, 1 October, and Denmark visit the Welsh capital three days later.

Wales were already without defenders Joe Rodon and Dylan Lawlor, while Cardiff City pair Rubin Colwill and Isaak Davies are also unavailable. Taylor has scored five goals for Huddersfield this season, while Savage has made more than 150 appearances for Reading since joining from Manchester United in 2023.
