According to ABC News, Powderfinger has added capital-city dates to its 2027 reunion tour after the first ticket pre-sale drew massive demand and long queues. The band announced its return last week, 10 years after its final live show in 2010.

The added concerts are scheduled for Brisbane Showgrounds on September 6 and September 8; Melbourne Park Oval on September 25 and September 27; Sydney’s Domain on October 6; and Perth’s Wellington Square on September 27. The extra dates were announced by the band and tour partner Live Nation.

Fans who registered for artist and Telstra pre-sales reported lengthy waits as thousands tried to secure tickets. Sales are being released in stages, with two pre-sales held on Wednesday and a Live Nation pre-sale due on Friday.

General on-sale tickets will be released on Monday at 10am AEST. Powderfinger said people who missed tickets during the first pre-sale would have further opportunities to buy them.

The tour includes concerts across Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne in late 2027. Formed in 1989, Powderfinger released five ARIA number one albums and won 18 ARIA Awards before the group split.
