Arabic version: الولايات المتحدة تستضيف حفل تواصل لرجال الأعمال السودانيين في القاهرة
According to Allafrica, Chargé d’Affaires Jonathan Howard and the Office of Sudan Affairs hosted a reception in Cairo for approximately 60 Sudanese business leaders, Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) alumni and representatives of the U.S. Embassy Cairo’s Foreign Commercial Service.
The gathering focused on strengthening U.S.-Sudanese commercial ties and developing networks that could support Sudan’s eventual post-war economic recovery. It brought together private-sector leaders and YALI alumni with connections to the United States, local expertise and professional networks.
The Office of Sudan Affairs said such relationships can provide a basis for identifying commercial opportunities, linking prospective partners and advancing mutual prosperity. YALI alumni were presented as potential partners for American businesses.
The reception was the Office of Sudan Affairs’ largest gathering for a Sudanese audience since the evacuation of U.S. Embassy Khartoum. The event underscored commercial diplomacy’s role in maintaining relationships with Sudan’s private sector and preparing for future economic engagement.
