According to BBC News, St Brigid’s secured their first Antrim Senior Football Championship title with a 0-21 to 1-16 victory over O’Donovan Rossa in an all-Belfast final. It was St Brigid’s first appearance in the county final.

O’Donovan Rossa began strongly, with Stephen Beatty registering an early two-pointer. Corey Walsh then curled over a point to put Rossa 0-7 to 0-4 ahead after 15 minutes, while St Brigid’s struggled to establish themselves.

St Brigid’s recovered through Ronan McGrady, whose next three scores levelled the match after 25 minutes. JJ Higgins then gave Cathal Murray’s side their first lead, before Paudie Finnegan and Paul Bradley added scores to leave St Brigid’s two points in front at half-time.

Higgins and McGrady extended the advantage early in the second half, but Rossa responded. Dominic McEnhill helped revive their challenge before Diarmuid Rogan tapped the game’s only goal into an empty net with just one point separating the teams. The lead changed hands several times, but Higgins scored the final three points in added time as St Brigid’s held on. Founded in 1998, St Brigid’s celebrated as blue and yellow flags and flares filled the field at the final whistle.
