According to ABC News, a man has been arrested following an investigation into an armed man who prompted a lockdown in Sydney’s inner west last week.

NSW Police were called to a car park in Dulwich Hill at about 10:20am on Friday after reports of a stolen vehicle. Officers were told a man was armed with a firearm inside the reportedly stolen vehicle before allegedly setting it on fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze and no injuries were reported. The man left the scene on foot, leading police to establish a crime scene and search for the gunman. Strike Force Ranilo was established to investigate the incident.

On Sunday night, police arrested a 32-year-old man in Burwood after he allegedly attempted to evade officers. Paramedics treated him for a minor injury sustained during the arrest before he was taken to Concord Hospital under police guard.

The man was later taken to Newtown Police Station, where questioning remains ongoing.
