Arabic version: كارتال تخسر أمام خفالينسكا في نهائي بطولة ووهان المفتوحة

According to BBC News, Britain’s Sonay Kartal missed out on the Wuhan Open title after losing 2-6 6-4 6-2 to Maja Chwalinska.

Chwalinska, described as a French Open runner-up, recovered after dropping the opening set to win the final in three sets.

The match capped a notable run for Kartal, who was playing only her third event since returning from a six-month lay-off with a back injury.

The defeat denied Kartal what would have been the biggest title of her career.
