The Bankstown Basketball Association held its prestigious 48th Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday, 21 September 2024, at the Grand Ballroom of the Bankstown Sports Club. The event was a resounding success, drawing a large crowd that included players and their families, sponsors, organisers, members of the association’s board, and various distinguished guests.
Among the notable attendees were David Coleman MP, Federal Member for Banks; Kylie Wilkinson MP, State Member for East Hills; Clr Rachelle Harika, Deputy Mayor of Canterbury Bankstown; and Clr Wendy Lindsay from Canterbury Bankstown. Their presence highlighted the significance of the event, reflecting the strong support for the association within the community.
Tracey Lopez, President of the Bankstown Basketball Association, served as the Master of Ceremonies. She expertly guided the evening’s proceedings, ensuring that the accomplishments of players, teams, and staff were duly recognised. The night was particularly special as many players and staff members were honoured for their outstanding achievements and contributions throughout the season. Several teams even made it all the way to the finals, a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.
The evening was a celebration of not only athletic excellence but also the spirit of community and sportsmanship that defines the Bankstown Basketball Association. It provided an opportunity for the entire community to come together and celebrate the success of the past year while looking forward to the future.
