SPRING INTO SCHOOL HOLIDAY FUN: CBCITY’S ACTION-PACKED PROGRAM

Don’t sit at home these school holidays! Spring into a world of fun and adventure with City of Canterbury Bankstown’s action-packed program of free and low-cost activities.

With more than 70 thrilling options for kids aged 5-18 years, there’s something to get every imagination turning.

Uncover the magic of the circus with an Acrobatics and Circus Skills Workshop, cast spells at the Hogwarts Wizarding Challenge and be dazzled by a live magic show.

There’s also plenty to get out in the springtime sun with mountain biking and skateboarding clinics, a trip to Luna Park and a fun-filled Big Day Out for the whole family.

And for the craftier kids, unleash your creativity in a clay class, learn to make and mend clothes in a sewing workshop or whip up your very own products in a self-care and skincare session.

Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek said Council has organised a massive program of activities to make sure no kid misses out on fun these school holidays.

“We’ve taken the guess work out of keeping the kids entertained, with most activities low-cost and within reach of the family budget,” Mayor El-Hayek said.

“Make sure you book your kids in quick, because the activities traditionally sell out fast.”

These school holidays will also see Council launch its Youth Futures employment series, to support those aged 15-24 with the transition into employment.

“We’re arming our youth with the information, skills and confidence to enter the workforce,” Mayor El-Hayek said.

“I encourage all young people to join our First Responders Info Session to hear from our local police, firefighters and paramedics about the rewarding career opportunities in emergency services.”

The school holiday activities are run by Active Canterbury-Bankstown, Bankstown Arts Centre, Belmore Youth Resource Centre, Canterbury-Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centres and Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre. The program runs from Monday 30 September-Friday 11 October.
