The City of Canterbury Bankstown is cracking down on illegal dumping with a new beautification project in North Parade at Campsie. By removing abandoned vehicles and dumped rubbish, clearing overgrown bushes, and installing surveillance cameras and signage, the aim is to deter dumpers and promote cleaner streets. This initiative is part of an ongoing illegal dumping prevention program for the area which has already seen a 61% reduction in illegal dumping offences. Canterbury-Bankstown Mayor Bilal El-Hayek hopes to roll the project out to other locations across the city, making it easier for local communities to help prevent criminal behaviour.
