Lynda Voltz MP, Member for Auburn, has called on the local community to continue to get tested for COVID when asked by NSW Health & if any symptoms arise.

With a number of positive tests emerging in school communities in Regents Park, Berala, Lidcombe & Auburn, it is clear COVID is still circulating at some level in the local community. The efforts of everyone to get vaccinated have resulted in significant decreases in hospitalization and death, but also in many current cases being asymptomatic.

Ms. Voltz said that despite the huge level of vaccination, it is vital that anyone required to get a test or displaying symptoms, visits a testing site as soon as possible.

“Unfortunately COVID still exists in our community, so we need to continue to get tested promptly,” Ms. Voltz said.

“We’ve seen some cases, including the new Omicron variant, emerging in school communities in our area and despite high vaccination levels, the virus is circulating.

“It is vital that when NSW Health requests anyone to get tested, or if you’re displaying any symptoms, that they do it as soon as possible.

“There are a number of testing clinics across Auburn and Lidcombe – we need to continue to support our community and get tested for COVID.”
