On 3 August 2024, Safety Training Academy (STA) in Sefton marked a significant milestone by celebrating the renewal of its Registered Training Organisation (RTO) registration for another seven years, awarded by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). This achievement followed a routine renewal audit conducted by ASQA a few weeks prior.

ASQA, the national regulator for vocational education and training (VET) in Australia, conducts comprehensive audits to ensure RTOs meet stringent standards of educational quality and compliance. Organisations that excel during these audits are granted up to seven years of registration, the maximum period possible. STA’s receipt of this highest period underscores the academy’s dedication to excellence in vocational education.

Safety Training Academy offers a range of short courses primarily focused on the construction and earthmoving industry. Their training programs include forklift training, white card certification, and other essential courses for industry professionals. The academy is owned and managed by Maria Hajjar, the founding director renowned for her exceptional track record in RTO management.

The renewal celebration was held at The Pearl Mediterranean Dining and Lounge in Padstow, where guests enjoyed a variety of Middle Eastern cuisine and danced to Arabic music. The event brought together STA’s management, trainers, partners, and their families in a festive atmosphere to commemorate this significant achievement.

Maria Hajjar expressed her gratitude and pride in the academy’s accomplishments, emphasising the collective effort of her dedicated team. “This renewal is a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone at STA. We are dedicated to providing top-tier education and training, and this recognition from ASQA reinforces our mission,” Hajjar remarked.

The celebration not only highlighted STA’s success but also reinforced its commitment to delivering high-quality training and maintaining the highest standards in the industry. With this renewed registration, STA is well-positioned to continue its role as a leading provider of vocational education and training in Australia.
