General Policy

These policies are meant to help Oz Arab Media as we provide news and information in Australia and the Arab World. We consider these guidelines to be a dynamic document that will be modified and updated based on feedback from our partners, contributors, and readers. Because the conditions under which information is received and disseminated vary from one case to another, this guide should not be understood as a definitive rulebook or as a means to cover all situations.

Contributors

While Oz Arab Media syndicated some articles from other relevant news sources, reporters and contributors are committed to honesty and truthfulness. We can never claim that the story we publish is complete or comprehensive; however, we try our best to cover as many sides as possible. We also publish press releases when requested, but we claim no responsibility over them and they are clearly marked as Press Releases as the author’s name.

Taste

Oz Arab Media respects taste and civility, even though the definition of these terms keeps on changing. It is quite known that a term that one generation or community finds offensive another finds completely normal. However, we shall do our best to avoid the use of vulgar or obscene language except where it’s a direct quote or when the story loses meaning without it. Moreover, we do not advertise for or link to sites that are related to illegal or unethical activities including pornography and gambling.

Articles

We do not actively influence our contributor’s choice of topics or manner of writing. While we do check stories before publishing, all information reported in articles is the responsibility of the reporter and not Oz Arab Media. If you find an article untrue, offensive, or misleading, we highly encourage you to let us know so that we can work with our contributors to clear it up.

Social Media

When using social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc., for journalism, social media accounts maintained by Oz Arab Media, open discussion and engagement is promoted. While we do our best to remove offensive or abusive comments, we cannot be held responsible for content which is created in response to our posts, especially visitor comments. Oz Arab Media refrains from posting anything — including photographs or video — that could objectively be perceived as reflecting, racial, sexist, religious or other bias.

Corrections

Oz Arab Media aims for a flexible, truthful, and complete article. We strive to be prompt in fixing errors in our publications.

Diversity

Even though Oz Arab Media is considered as an ethnic news platform, we believe and promote diversity wherever possible. Accurately reporting stories from Australia, the Arab World and Internationally helps us promote diversity, especially within the Arab community. Additionally, we work with contributors and team members based on skill and capability irrespective of their background, race, or gender.
