The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates renews its call for urgent international action to stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation in the northern West Bank and to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire in Gaza.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates reiterates its demand for the international community to take urgent and effective action to achieve a lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to compel the Israeli occupation to end its aggression against the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

This comes amid the Israeli occupation’s continuous perpetration of crimes against the Palestinian people and systematic destruction of the basic foundations of life, particularly in the northern West Bank, including the forced displacement of more than 30,000 Palestinian citizens from their homes, the bulldozing of infrastructure, the demolition of houses, and the alteration of the status quo of Palestinian refugee camps. Constant military incursions into Palestinian towns, refugee camps, and cities across the occupied West Bank are ongoing and accelerating, accompanied by vandalism, destruction, home invasions, and the terrorizing of civilians, including women and children. These actions also involve mass arbitrary arrests and the denial of fundamental civil liberties, foremost among them being the right of Palestinian civilians to freedom of movement in their own land, representing one of the most egregious manifestations of the colonial apartheid system.

The Ministry believes that the international community’s mere issuance of condemnations, expressions of concern, or apprehensions about the consequences of the Israeli occupation’s ongoing aggression — along with the adoption of UN resolutions that remain unenforced — has become a cover that encourages the Israeli occupation to persist in committing further crimes, in addition to providing the Israeli occupation with the time necessary for the completion of ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, and annexation without monitoring, accountability, or even consequences.
