The Liverpool community stands in solidarity with the people of Bondi and the Jewish community as they deal with the horrific attack at Bondi Beach on 14 December 2025.
Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun expressed his shock and sadness at the attack.
“This is an unfathomable attack on a peaceful gathering of people simply practising their faith. I pray for those who have died, those who are injured, their families and the wider Jewish community as they come to terms with this terrible event”.
Earlier this year, Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun joined with Waverley Mayor Will Nemesh, Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne, and 19 other Sydney Mayors in calling out violence, hatred and extremism and committed to being champions of social cohesion.
“Sydney’s diversity is its strength. Whilst criminal acts such as what has occurred in Bondi may seek to divide us, we must all come together, regardless of faith or culture, to do our part in ensuring our communities live harmoniously and free from hatred and violence.” Mayor Mannoun said.
“The actions of 2 do not reflect 27 million people in Australia. We must not let the anger and hate divide our community, as it is one of the largest multicultural countries in the world.”
“I ask that our community joins me in keeping those affected in their thoughts and prayers”.
