Former Prince Andrew’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein have been under scrutiny for years, largely due to a series of revealing photographs. According to The Guardian, these images have kept Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor in the public eye and intensified the pressure on the royal family.

One of the most discussed photographs shows Andrew with Virginia Giuffre, who was 17 at the time, alongside Ghislaine Maxwell. Taken in 2001, the photo resurfaced a decade later and has been cited as having “no innocent explanation” by former sex crimes prosecutor Wendy Murphy. Despite Andrew’s long-standing denial of the allegations, he settled a civil case with Giuffre in 2022 without admitting liability.

Another significant image depicts Andrew walking in Central Park with Epstein in 2010, raising questions about his judgment. The photo was published in the News of the World on 20 February 2011, sparking public outrage. Andrew later claimed he intended to sever ties with Epstein, but communications revealed after the Giuffre photograph emerged suggested otherwise.

Additional photos released by the U.S. justice department show Andrew in close proximity to an unidentified woman lying on the floor. These undated images lack context but have contributed to the ongoing scrutiny of his actions.

The culmination of these controversies is exemplified by a photograph of Andrew leaving Aylsham police station after being arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. This marked a historic moment, as he became the first royal to be arrested since Charles I in 1647, highlighting the unprecedented nature of his legal troubles.
