The Lionesses will make history by becoming the first England team to play at Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium when they host Ukraine in a Women’s World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, 9 June. This venue, which opened last summer, is also one of the host sites for Euro 2028 and is included in the UK bid for the 2035 Women’s World Cup.

According to BBC News, Scotland will also face the Ivory Coast at the stadium on 31 March as they prepare for the upcoming men’s World Cup. The Lionesses, under the management of Sarina Wiegman, are currently vying for a spot in the 2027 Women’s World Cup and are competing in a qualifying group alongside Spain, Ukraine, and Iceland.

The Lionesses will first take on Ukraine in Turkey on Tuesday, 3 March before welcoming Iceland to the City Ground on Saturday, 7 March. Their anticipated match against defending champions Spain is scheduled for 14 April at Wembley Stadium.

Wiegman expressed her excitement about playing at Everton’s new stadium, highlighting the importance of showcasing the team across the country. She noted the rich football history of Liverpool and its connections to the Lionesses, making the upcoming match a significant event for the team and its fans.
