US President Donald Trump has threatened further strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island, urging allies to deploy warships to secure the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Trump stated that the US attacks had “totally demolished” much of the oil export hub and warned of potential additional strikes.

According to Al Jazeera, Trump suggested, “We may hit it a few more times just for fun,” which marks a shift from his previous statements that the US was targeting only military sites on the island.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded to the threats, stating that Iran would retaliate against any attacks on its energy facilities. He claimed that the US launched its attacks from two locations in the United Arab Emirates, labeling the situation as “dangerous.”

The US Central Command did not comment on Araghchi’s assertions. Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced missile and drone strikes on targets in Israel and US bases in the region, describing these actions as retaliation for recent casualties in Iran. The ongoing conflict has led to significant disruptions in global oil supplies, with the Strait of Hormuz being a critical passage for oil transport.
