Arabic version: الشرطة تحقق في بريد مانديليسون الإلكتروني إلى إبستين بشأن إنقاذ الاتحاد الأوروبي
Police are investigating a 2010 email Lord Mandelson appeared to share with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein about an EU bailout after the financial crash. Metropolitan Police chief Sir Mark Rowley stated that officers are assessing whether the email constitutes a criminal offense.
According to BBC News, the email in question suggests that Mandelson provided Epstein with advance notice of a €500 billion bailout intended to support the struggling Euro. The evening before the announcement on 10 May 2010, Epstein reached out to Mandelson, indicating that he had information about the bailout’s completion. Mandelson’s response confirmed the upcoming announcement.
Sir Mark Rowley also mentioned that Thames Valley Police are examining other documents reportedly shared by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who is under investigation for alleged misconduct in public office. Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested following a complaint regarding his communication with Epstein.
The investigation into Mountbatten-Windsor includes assessing a range of sexual allegations against him, although Sir Mark noted that previous interviews with Virginia Giuffre, who alleged misconduct by Mountbatten-Windsor, did not yield evidence for further investigation in the UK. Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently denied these allegations.
Sir Mark emphasized the need for unredacted evidence from the Epstein files, indicating that substantial evidence exists. He confirmed that discussions with U.S. authorities are progressing as expected.
