The Egyptian-Sudanese relations are characterized by a high degree of uniqueness at all levels, both popular and official. Indeed, the peoples of the Nile Valley consider themselves one nation, sharing identical customs, traditions, culture, and the Arabic language, as well as a common destiny. These sentiments were expressed by the prominent politician Hassan Turk, the head of the Democratic Unionist Party and a member of the Egyptian Political Party Coalition, as he welcomed Dr. Sit Al-Banat Hassan, the head of the Dongola Association for Nubian Culture and Heritage.
Hassan Turk emphasized that it is an honor for the Democratic Unionist Party and for himself and his colleagues in the high committee and the general secretariat to visit Dr. Sit Al-Banat Hassan, as well as the honored Professor Salah Gharib, the media advisor for Sudan. They were greeted by Dr. Nabila Sami, the vice president of the Egyptian Democratic Unionist Party. During their meeting, they agreed to coordinate numerous activities that would benefit both brotherly nations.
In a press statement on Wednesday evening in Cairo, Turk expressed hope that the efforts of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi would succeed in a series of initiatives aimed at stopping the war and the bloodshed in Sudan, as well as halting the atrocities committed by the Rapid Support Forces. He called for peace and security to prevail throughout beloved Sudan.
Turk praised the efforts of Minister Hassan Rashad, head of the intelligence agency, and Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Atty for their ongoing positive engagement with the Sudanese government and their counterparts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aimed at ending the destruction and violence in Sudan. He emphasized the need for the return of refugees and displaced persons to their homeland, as well as paving the way for reconstruction and development in great Sudan.
Turk concluded his press statements by reiterating his greetings and warm welcome to the esteemed Sudanese figure, represented by the distinguished cultural and social personality, Dr. Sit Al-Banat Hassan, and her esteemed companions. He promised good things to come for the benefit of the people of the Nile Valley in Egypt and Sudan, asserting that Egypt and Sudan are one nation and one people.
