Arabic version: الملك تشارلز الثالث والملكة كاميلا يبدأان زيارة دولة تاريخية إلى الولايات المتحدة
King Charles III and Queen Camilla have officially commenced their four-day state visit to the United States, marking the first such visit since Queen Elizabeth II’s trip in 2007. This visit occurs as the U.S. approaches the 250th anniversary of its independence from Britain, highlighting the enduring relationship between the two nations.
Upon their arrival, the royal couple was greeted with a ceremonial welcome. The red carpet was rolled out as they descended from their aircraft, and they were welcomed by Ambassador Monica Crowley, Chief of Protocol of the United States, alongside Sir Christian Turner, the UK ambassador to the U.S.
Children presented the King and Queen with flowers, and they passed through a guard of honor while a military band performed the national anthems of both countries.
Later, King Charles and Queen Camilla met with former President Donald Trump and Melania Trump at the White House for afternoon tea, further emphasizing the diplomatic significance of their visit.
According to BBC News, this state visit aims to celebrate the strong ties between the UK and the U.S.
