Arabic version: رجل متهم بقتل ثلاثة من أفراد أسرته في سيدني
A man has been charged with three counts of murder (domestic violence) and one of attempted murder (domestic violence) following a violent incident at a home in Rosemeadow, a suburb in Sydney’s south-west. According to The Guardian, the police responded to reports of an assault just after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
At the scene, officers discovered a 65-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man deceased. A 64-year-old man was found with critical injuries and was later pronounced dead in the hospital. These victims are believed to be the parents and brother of the alleged assailant.
The 32-year-old man in custody is also suspected of attacking a third son, aged 30, who sustained injuries but has since been treated and discharged from Liverpool hospital. The surviving family member reportedly called the police to report the incident.
Police have indicated that more than one type of weapon may have been used in the assault, although no firearms were involved. Superintendent Grant Healey described the scene as extremely bloody and indicated that the family was not previously known to law enforcement. The suspect has been refused bail and is set to appear in Campbelltown local court on Monday.
