Arabic version: اندلاع حريق ضخم في مصنع واربورتونز في بيرنلي
A large fire has broken out at the Warburtons factory in Burnley, Lancashire. The blaze, which sent a plume of smoke hundreds of feet into the air, was first spotted by Dave Fishwick, known for his role in the Netflix film ‘Bank of Dave’, while he was flying in his helicopter nearby.
According to BBC News, Fishwick reported the incident to the police and fire service after capturing footage of the fire from the air. A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said 12 crews were tackling the fire, which broke out at about 14:45 BST at the Billington Road industrial estate.
Fishwick, who is also the founder of Burnley Savings and Loan, expressed concern for those in the vicinity while documenting the situation from his aircraft. He noted the extensive damage to the factory roof and confirmed that it was indeed the Warburtons facility.
A spokesperson for Warburtons stated that the building had been evacuated safely, but the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage remain unknown at this time. The fire service later indicated that they would be on-site for the “foreseeable future” and advised the public to avoid flying drones in the area to ensure safety and facilitate their operations.
