Arabic version: وثائقي يكشف تفاصيل مقلقة حول وفاة شارمين سبيرز
Charmain Speirs, who married Ghanaian pastor Eric Adusah, was found dead in a hotel bathtub in Ghana just six months after their wedding. Her husband, the head pastor of a Pentecostal church, was charged with her murder but later released due to lack of evidence. Adusah, known as a prophet, has denied any involvement in her death.
According to BBC News, a recent documentary raised questions about Adusah’s account of the night Charmain was last seen. Friends and family expressed confusion over why she left her seven-year-old son with members of her husband’s church while traveling to Ghana alone.
A new podcast series, “Charmain and the Prophet,” features Elma Adams, who suggests that Charmain was “on a mission” to uncover her husband’s true identity. Elma, who had previously supported Adusah, stated that Charmain seemed increasingly distressed and dependent on him.
Witnesses reported signs of coercive control in Charmain’s marriage, with claims of emotional and physical abuse. A friend revealed that Charmain had been planning “an exit strategy” but still held on to hope regarding her marriage.
The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, with reports indicating that she may have confronted Adusah about undisclosed aspects of his life. A friend claimed that Charmain discovered her husband had another identity and possibly another wife in Ghana. Following her death, investigations into Adusah’s actions that night revealed inconsistencies in his story, raising further questions about the events leading up to Charmain’s tragic end.
