A woman who died after being shot outside a bar in Sheffield city centre was an innocent bystander, police said. The 30-year-old was found with serious injuries outside One Four One on West Street at about 02:45 BST on Monday and later died in hospital.
According to BBC News, the victim, from Sheffield, was on a night out to celebrate the bank holiday. Chief Superintendent Jamie Henderson of South Yorkshire Police expressed condolences, stating, “An innocent woman who should have been able to safely enjoy her night out here in Sheffield has been killed and her loved ones have been left to face a heartbreaking reality that they will never see her again.”
In connection with the shooting, three individuals have been arrested. A 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were held near Stockport, Greater Manchester, while another 30-year-old man was arrested in Sheffield. All three suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
The police have released a CCTV image of a white Audi parked at the junction of Eldon Street and West Hill Street, urging anyone who may have seen the vehicle or witnessed the incident to come forward. Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles emphasized the importance of gathering information from potential witnesses, particularly those who may have been in the area during the early hours of Monday.
The tragic event has shocked the local community, prompting a call for anyone with relevant information, including photos or dashcam footage, to assist the investigation.
