Authorities are actively searching for a man involved in a targeted shooting incident in Craigieburn, Melbourne’s north, that occurred last year. According to ABC News, the shooting took place on October 24, 2026, just before 1 PM, when three shots were fired into a house on Elmwood Plane.
Fortunately, no one was present in the home during the incident, which police believe was intentional. The Victoria Police have released CCTV footage showing a male suspect exiting a black Land Rover and discharging the firearm towards the residence while seemingly recording the act on a mobile phone.
The suspect is described as wearing a black hooded jumper, a black face mask, a balaclava, and black tracksuit pants with a grey waistband, along with black shoes featuring white soles. After the shooting, he returned to the vehicle and drove away in a southerly direction.
Senior Constable Mitchell Jones emphasized the recklessness of the act, noting that it was fortunate that no one was home at the time. He mentioned that the residents of the targeted house were understandably shocked and concerned about the incident. Although the shooting was not reported immediately, footage was provided to the police in January 2026.
The investigation is being conducted by the Fawkner Divisional Response unit, and police are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
