Simone Biles has taken to social media to reveal a frightening health scare that left her feeling as though she was close to death. The seven-time Olympic champion shared this shocking experience with her 11.8 million Instagram followers, stating, “almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.” According to ABC News, Biles described the incident as one of, if not the scariest experiences of her life, especially since her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens, was in Indy for practices at the time.

Biles did not disclose specific details regarding the incident but did post images showing medical bracelets on her wrists along with photos of flowers sent by friends and family. She expressed gratitude to her close circle for their support, stating, “s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers. Love y’all.”

At 29, Biles is a celebrated figure in gymnastics, holding the title of a 23-time World Champion. Currently, she is on a break from competition following breast augmentation surgery and has yet to confirm her participation in the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics.

Biles first gained international fame during the 2016 Rio Games, where she won four gold medals, a record for an American gymnast at a single Olympics. After facing mental health challenges during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, she made a strong comeback at the Paris Games, securing three gold medals and a silver. Should she compete in Los Angeles, Biles will be 31 years old, marking a significant milestone in her illustrious career.
