Each contestant has been tasked with finding a story and producing a short film within a 10-day timeframe. The films will be judged by a panel of experts and viewers, with the first round showcasing diverse topics ranging from illegal fishing in the Philippines to the vibrant world of Michael Jackson impersonators in Las Vegas.
The contestants’ week one films include:
– **Jayden in the Philippines**: His film titled *Pamilya Muna (Family First)* highlights destructive fishing practices.
– **Kate in India**: *Live the Ultra Life* explores unique lifestyles across the country.
– **William in Egypt**: *Al Asmar* focuses on a clothing business that caters to a specific demographic.
– **Elliot in Moldova**: *Between Life and War* tells the poignant story of a woman returning to Kyiv for cancer treatment.
– **Lucinda in Nevada, USA**: *The Kings of Pop* examines the lucrative nature of imitation in Las Vegas.
– **Mikaela in Alaska, USA**: Her film *Arctic Willows* captures the internal conflict of a young Iñupiaq girl from Utqiagvik.
Viewers can vote for their favorite film until Friday, June 12, at 4:00 PM AEST, as the contestants prepare for their next adventures around the globe.
