Christian Eriksen has been discharged from the hospital after collapsing during a friendly match against Ukraine. The incident occurred in the 65th minute at Odense Stadium, where Eriksen lost consciousness and the game was promptly abandoned.
According to The Guardian, Eriksen, who is 34 years old and has a history of cardiac issues, posted a positive health update on Instagram. He expressed gratitude for the medical team and reassured fans that his recent collapse was different from his previous cardiac arrest during the Euros in 2021.
In his Instagram statement, Eriksen mentioned that he is feeling good and has already started his recovery. He emphasized the importance of the implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) he received after his 2021 incident, stating that it functioned as intended during this latest episode.
Eriksen’s focus now is on spending time with his family, going on vacation, and eventually returning to football activities with his children. He previously played for clubs including Inter, Brentford, and Manchester United, and he joined Wolfsburg last summer.
