Arabic version: ترامب يستضيف حدث UFC تاريخي في حديقة البيت الأبيض بمناسبة عيد ميلاده
Donald Trump is set to celebrate his 80th birthday by hosting the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on the South Lawn of the White House this Sunday. This unprecedented event, dubbed “UFC Freedom 250,” will feature seven fights, including a highly anticipated main event between lightweight champion Ilia Topuria and interim champion Justin Gaethje.
According to The Guardian, the South Lawn has been transformed into a mini coliseum, complete with a massive 92-foot steel structure nicknamed “the Claw.” Thousands of seats have been arranged for the occasion, which is expected to draw around 4,300 spectators, including 1,200 active-duty military personnel.
Despite forecasts of possible thunderstorms, the administration remains committed to proceeding with the event. A lawsuit seeking to block the UFC event was denied by a judge, allowing preparations to continue. Critics have voiced concerns about the appropriateness of hosting a combat sports event at the White House, but Trump has framed it as a celebration of American culture and a nod to his supporters.
The event will also feature recognition for UFC fighter Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis, who has passed 75 consecutive drug tests. Additionally, Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed a memorandum of understanding with the UFC, highlighting its role as a unifying platform for diverse audiences. With the stage set for a historic night, all eyes will be on the White House as it hosts a major professional sporting event for the first time in history.
