Live music will take over as Make Music Day transforms the City into a free, all-ages live music experience on Sunday 21 June.
Running alongside the Parramatta Half Marathon, the event will feature performances by local and emerging artists and live performances across Parramatta Town Hall, George Street and Parramatta Park with roaming acts popping up throughout the morning.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the event is a chance to experience the City’s growing arts and music scene while creating opportunities for local talent.
“This is a fantastic celebration of music, community and culture right in the heart of Parramatta,” Cr Zaiter said.
“We are proud to give local artists a platform to perform, many for the first time and to showcase the incredible talent we have right here in Western Sydney.
“With thousands of people already in the City for the Half Marathon, it’s the perfect opportunity to get out, discover new artists and support local businesses while enjoying everything Parramatta has to offer.”
The program includes artists uncovered through Council’s Battle of the Bands along with a diverse mix of soloists, duos and bands from across Western Sydney.
The event is expected to draw strong crowds across its three performance spaces with thousands of people passing through the CBD throughout the morning.
Part of the global Fête de la Musique, Make Music Day is celebrated in cities around the world and brings communities together through the power of live music.
