A teacher at Milford Haven Comprehensive School, Vicki Williams, recounted a harrowing experience in court where she was stabbed in the head by a 16-year-old pupil. The incident occurred when the student approached her under the pretense of seeking help with his history work, only to launch a violent attack. According to BBC News, Williams expressed her fear during the attack, believing she would not survive to see her daughter again.
During the trial at Swansea Crown Court, Williams described how the boy, who cannot be named due to his age, had seemed fine earlier that day in class. She noted that she could not recall any problems with him previously and that he was “absolutely fine” in that lesson. However, what followed was shocking; she detailed how he lunged at her with a large kitchen knife, pushing her back into her chair.
Williams recounted the moment the knife was pointed at her, stating, “The look was pure hatred. The eyes, it was pure hatred, they were definitely not vacant.” She fought back, grabbing the knife as he attempted to stab her, and she described the overwhelming pressure of the attack.
The court heard from the school’s safeguarding lead, who testified that Williams looked “horrific” after the incident, showing visible signs of distress and injury. Williams sustained several injuries, including a 7cm (2.8 in) wound to her lower back, necessitating her hospitalization.
Following the attack, the school was placed in temporary lockdown, and the pupil was arrested at his grandmother’s home. The trial continues as the jury evaluates the circumstances surrounding this distressing event.
